Full-size cars had the best week among cars last week, as the segment saw its average wholesale value rise by 0.02% compared to the week before. Subcompact cars experienced a second week of steep depreciation, falling 0.56% over the previous week, the highest depreciation among all cars.

Wholesale vehicles continued to hold values well last week, however, subcompact car values are beginning to see steeper drops after weeks of outperforming other vehicle segments, according to Black Book’s Aug. 13 Market Insights Report.

Overall, car segment values decreased by 0.2%, compared to 0.22% depreciation the segment experienced the week before. Overall, truck segment values decreased by 0.15%, equal to the deprecation the segment experienced the week before.

Full-size cars had the best week among cars last week, as the segment saw its average wholesale value rise by 0.02% compared to the week before. Subcompact cars experienced a second week of steep depreciation, falling 0.56% over the previous week, the highest depreciation among all cars.

The truck segment saw no movement week-over-week. Small pickups continued to be  one of the segment’s stalwarts, as values for average wholesale pickups increased 0.09%, compared to the week before.

The heaviest depreciation among truck segment vehicles came from full-size vans last week, as the segment fell 0.5% in value compared to the week before.
