Wholesale depreciation remained low last week, as demand for used vehicles continues to hold strong, according to Black Book’s Aug. 6 Market Insights Report.

Overall, car segment values decreased 0.22% last week, compared to 0.09% the week before. Overall, truck segment values decreased 0.15%, compared to 0.19% the week prior.

The compact and sporty car segments continue to be the strong performers among cars. Last week, compact cars experienced 0.01% depreciation, the lowest among cars, while sporty cars experienced 0.09% depreciation.

The subcompact car segment struggled last week, as average values for the segment depreciated 0.62%, which was the highest depreciation among all vehicles last week.

Minivans and small pickups had the best week among all vehicles last week, as values for the segments were up 0.04% and 0.06%, respectively. The highest depreciation among trucks came from luxury segments.
