Sen. Schumer Calls for 'Flood Check' in Used Car Buyers Guides
More stringent guidelines may be coming to used car Buyers Guides, the document that dealers need to include in every used car they offer for sale, according to the Associated Press.

Sen. Charles Schumer asked the FTC to add a flood check element to used car Buyers Guides due to the possibility of flood damaged cars entering the used car market after last year's hurricanes.

An extra guideline may be coming to used car Buyers Guides, the document that dealers need to include in every used car they offer for sale, as a result of last year's hurricanes, according to the Associated Press.
U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer recently sent a letter to the Federal Trade Commission, asking that the government body add a flood check element to Buyers Guides, to ensure that the vehicle being sold has not sustained water damage.
This request comes nearly a year after the U.S. was hit by a number of hurricanes that destroyed hundreds of thousands of vehicles.
The FTC, and other entities have warned that some of these water damaged vehicles could end up being sold, according to AP. So far the FTC has not commented on the request, AP added.
