Rea Brothers' Mid-South Auction Opens New Facility

Rea Brothers’ Mid South Auction is a partnership of Jimmy Rea, Kenny Rea, and John Rea, who serves as general manager. The family-owned business has been in continuous service since 1972. Their list of customers, past and present, includes many independent dealers as well as MS Financial, Wheels, Inc., Enterprise, Bank One, Associates Leasing, National Car Rental, PHH, World Omni, the State of Mississippi, Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation, Trustmark, Chrysler Credit Security Pacific, Toyota Motor Credit, Wm.Wrigley Co., GMAC, and Hertz.
According to Rea, the auction currently moves approximately 600 vehicles weekly. “ This new facility offers us the opportunity to expand our marketing efforts,” he said, “Our goal is 1,200 vehicle sales per week within the next five years.”
Nissan Motor Company’s new Canton, Mississippi automotive production plant is 28 miles north of the new Rea Brothers’ auction site.
Rea Brothers currently conducts regular Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. vehicle sales and monthly U.S. government auctions. Their weekly fleet/lease and dealer consignment auctions, including major regional franchised dealer trade vehicles, begin every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. The first sale at the new location will be February 22.
The new facility will serve Rea Brothers’ customers with six fully computerized selling-lanes, each equipped for over-sized vehicles. Located on 48 acres near the airport, the facility includes more than 25 acres of paved parking.
Grand opening for the Rea Brothers auction is scheduled for April 5, and will include nationally known guests as well as several special activities.
