Bill Westlake has been named director of national commercial sales for Metro Auto Auctions. In his new role, he will work with both Metro Auto Auction locations, in Phoenix and Dallas.
“Bill is a seasoned professional with many years of experience in national client sales and relationship management in the remarketing industry,” said Tom McDermott, General Manager and Partner at Metro Auto Auctions, Phoenix, who made the announcement. “Bill’s expertise and skill will make him an invaluable member of our auction team as we continue to expand our business in the area of commercial accounts, which we have targeted as the next major development area for both Metro Auction locations.”
Westlake comes to Metro Auctions from Cox Automotive / Manheim, where he began his career in the auction industry as a senior staff accountant and corporate financial manager. He led the sales force responsible for increasing participation in Manheim Online before serving as Director of National Commercial Accounts, a position he held from 2005 through 2015.
“Joining the Metro Auction team is a unique opportunity for me to help develop commercial business for a company that is dedicated to serving the marketplace and ensuring growth,” said Westlake. “The emphasis that Metro Auctions has placed on meticulous service, accountability and detail from gate to gavel makes both its auctions prime locations to service additional commercial sellers at every level.”
“The company’s focus on technology not only gives them the tools to enhance communications with auction staff, but it has expanded the audience for sellers as well,” Westlake continued. “But above all, Metro Auctions encourages an authentic and hands-on approach that makes every customer feel valued and respected. I am looking forward to representing Metro Auto Auctions and growing their commercial clientele.”
Metro Auto Auction is a premier auction group serving all the major markets in the West, offering professional remarketing services to auto dealers, financial institutions, credit unions, rental companies and leasing firms. Metro Auto Auction facilities in Phoenix and Dallas offer a complete range of services including transportation, reconditioning, post-sale inspections, financing, salvage, and specialty sales. Founded in 2005, Metro Auto Auctions are now part of Berkshire Hathaway Automotive.
