Subaru, Lexus, General Motors, and Tesla earned top honors or recognition for 2016 models in Kelley Blue Book's annual forecast of the vehicles with the best retained value after a five-year ownership period, the company announced.
Subaru was recognized as the top brand and Lexus earned best luxury brand with four and six models respectively winning in 22 vehicle segments. Toyota and General Motors each had five models winning best resale value awards. Porsche had two winning models, and Tesla earned its first award.
"Subaru is back on top once again for 2016 as the best mainstream brand for resale value across its entire lineup," said Eric Ibara, director of residual values for Kelley Blue Book. "While both Subaru and Lexus deliver incredible resale value, we also continue to be impressed with General Motors, which tops domestic automakers with seven combined awards for Chevrolet and GMC and places four of its vehicles in our Top 10."
Kelley Blue Book named the top 10 2016 models expected to return the highest value after five years:
Chevrolet Camaro
Chevrolet Colorado
GMC Canyon
GMC Sierra
Jeep Wrangler
Subaru Forester
Subaru WRX
Toyota 4Runner
Toyota Tacoma
