FRANKLIN, TN - Summer promotions at three ServNet auctions have added sizzle to the summer market. The Smoker Sale at Brasher's Idaho Auto Auction in June, DAA Northwest's Rock & Roll Sale in July, and KCI's Guitars upcoming Event in August entertained customers with competitive boxing, an outdoor rock & roll concert, the best of country music, raised funds for charity, and last but not least, provided outstanding opportunities for buying and selling at auction.

"At a time when much of the industry seems to be contracting, pulling back, reducing services and staff, ServNet auctions continue to move forward, building an energized market and an exciting environment for buying and selling vehicles," said Pierre Pons, ServNet CEO.

Bob McConkey, ServNet's chairman of the board and owner of DAA Northwest and KCI Auto Auction added: "The summer promotions at ServNet auctions are prime examples of our attitude toward the marketplace. We are not afraid; we are not pulling back. We are optimistic, and we believe that the customer experience and the relationship between dealer-and-auction is at the center of everything we do."

Brasher's Idaho Smoker Sale Features Food, Fights and Fundraising

The 2011 Smoker Sale and Last Man Standing Fundraiser came to an eventful close on Thursday, June 30. During the two day event Smoker guests enjoyed great consignments in the lanes, a VIP luncheon at Barbacoa Grill, an exciting evening of amateur boxing and the chance to meet five-time World Champion boxer, Michael 'Manitas de Piedra' Carbajal. The Smoker Sale featured a number of national consignors, including General Motors, Ally Auto Remarketing, AmeriCredit/GM Financial, Wells Fargo Dealer Services, US Bank, Santander, Prestige Financial, Enterprise Holdings, Overland West. Representatives from more than 800 new car stores and independent dealerships registered to attend the sale.

On Wednesday evening the action moved to Qwest Arena in downtown Boise where BIAA hosted Fight Night. A record crowd was on hand to cheer for nine amateur boxing matches that concluded with a new Smoker Champion: Nathen Low of Frank's Best Buy in La Grande, Oregon, who captured the 2011 Title Belt after three bloody rounds. Just prior to the Title Fight, the Last Man Standing Fundraiser brought Qwest Arena to its feet as General Manager, Doug Brasher stepped in the ring. Sandy Beach of Champion Motors in Nampa, Idaho, was the Last Man Standing for the second year in a row, standing for $10,000. BIAA staff is working hard to finalize donation amounts, but preliminary numbers estimate that the 2011 Last Man Standing raised close to $80,000, which will be distributed evenly among local and national nonprofit organizations.

"We were able to raise more money in 2011 than we did in the past two years combined," said General Manager Doug Brasher. "It's amazing that we could raise almost $80,000 in just one night, and we are very grateful to our customers and partners for supporting our cause. The Smoker will always be a night of action and excitement, but we're pleased to see that the event is also having an impact on our community in the name of Treasure Valley auto dealers."

Rock & Roll Sale Brings DAA's Core Values to the Forefront

DAA Northwest's core values are Integrity, Excellence, Professionalism and Fun. Employees are encouraged to have fun while on the job, but not at the cost of professionalism. And while pursuing excellence, DAA's staff members cannot sacrifice integrity. These values come into play every day at the auction, but DAA's annual Rock & Roll Sale brings them to the forefront.

"It's not common to quadruple your volume overnight and have it all come off without a hitch," said Bob McConkey, DAA Northwest's president. "On top of that, try hosting a party for 3,000 of your closest friends in the midst of it all. The 2011 Rock & Roll Sale was a complete success, and we want to thank the DAA Northwest employees for their monumental effort in producing this year's sale," he added.

The Rock & Roll Sale began with a fleet/lease sale on Wednesday, July 20th and continued until Thursday evening, July 21st.

"We offered 3500 units this year, and sold right at 2,000," said McConkey. "Given everything going on around us, we are proud to post those kinds of numbers for this year's event."

Between Wednesday and Thursday's sales, the auction was transformed into an outdoor concert venue, with local favorites The Cronkites opening for George Thorogood & The Destroyers Wednesday night. Customers and their guests enjoyed complimentary appetizers beverages during an evening of live music and fun at the auction.

While dealers worked the sale Thursday, DAA treated their significant others to a catered Lake Coeur d'Alene cruise. The sale concluded with $20,000 in post-sale prizes.

"The Rock & Roll Sale is an event that embodies all of our core values throughout the entire week," said McConkey. "We truly live them as we execute every aspect of the sale, party and concert. To quote Mr. David Frost, 'Don't aim for success if you want it, just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.' In a nutshell, I think that is what the Rock & Roll Sale and being a ServNet auction is all about!"

KCI Auto Auction Hosts Guitars & Cars in August

The Midwest's biggest auction event is set for August 23-25, when KCI Auto Auction hosts its Guitars and Cars event. The auction will feature 2,500 units over a three-day period and a performance by country music legend Diamond Rio.

Guitars and Cars '11 begins with a late model Tuesday afternoon sale offering over three hundred units. Then, on Wednesday night, the auction welcomes customers and their guests to the Guitars and Cars private party and concert. The Cronkites, who are known for opening up at DAA Northwest's Rock N' Roll sale, will take the stage followed by a live performance from one of country music's most decorated vocal groups, Diamond Rio.

Thursday morning welcomes customers to the action packed lanes for the Guitars and Cars Main Event Sale offering more than 2,000 vehicles. Any customer participating in the Tuesday or Thursday sale, will have a chance to win part of the post-sale prize giveaways.

"We're gearing up for this event and are anticipating record breaking consignment numbers," states Doug Doll, co-owner of KCI Auto Auction. "A lot of preparation is involved with an event of this size, but most importantly, a lot of fun is had by all" he added.
