Plug, an online wholesale auction platform for used electric vehicles, has been named the exclusive wholesale partner for Recurrent’s consumer-facing “Sell with Recurrent” service. Sellers can now receive an offer for their used EVs in less than an hour.

Real-Time Offers Enable Faster Resale Process

Plug will purchase consumer vehicles sold through Recurrent and offer them to dealers through its auction. Rather than waiting 24 hours for bids, Plug can now provide Recurrent’s sellers with an offer in under an hour by aggregating real-time buying activity from its 500-dealer network.

“Recurrent customers want to sell their EVs quickly with an offer from a buyer who understands EVs,” said Scott Case, CEO and co-founder of Recurrent, in a June 15 news release. “Integrating Plug provides fast, consistent pricing to our customers, supported by a network of EV-specialist dealers. This partnership streamlines the selling process for our users.”

EV-Specific Data Powers Transparent Valuation

Using its proprietary technology, Plug evaluates each vehicle based on VIN-level data and criteria specific to EVs, including battery health, software-enabled features, charging network access, and federal tax credit eligibility, to deliver market-rate offers efficiently.

After purchasing vehicles from Recurrent users, Plug relists them on its wholesale auction, where they are available for dealer purchase. Inventory is labeled as Recurrent-sourced, allowing dealers access to consumer-sourced vehicles, battery history reports, and supporting data.

“This partnership broadens access to EV inventory for our dealer network,” said Jimmy Douglas, founder and CEO of Plug. “By integrating with Recurrent, we enable dealers to source vehicles with EV-specific data that supports pricing decisions and accelerates transactions.”

Plug has facilitated more than $20 million in used EV sales since launching in 2023. The company has a network of nearly 500 dealers and consignors on its platform. Most EVs listed receive market-rate offers within 24 hours.

“When dealers can assess EV-specific value factors clearly, they can align bids with local market pricing and demand, resulting in stronger competition for desirable units,” Douglas added. “That’s why Recurrent-sourced vehicles perform well on Plug, and why we can offer competitive bids on customer trade-ins.”

Once an EV is sold on Plug, it is transported directly from the seller to the purchasing dealer.
