Long is succeeding Stephen Houston, interim executive director, who has served the IARA in this capacity since Matt Marks passed unexpectedly in October 2012. "I am pleased to have served as the interim executive director of the IARA for the past 11 months following the passing of Matt Marks,” Houston said. “As a past president and chairman of the Board, I am excited about the future if the IARA. I also look forward to assisting Tony as he transitions into his new role with the Alliance."

During his tenure in the auction industry, Long was known for his award-winning service to his remarketing customers.

From 1983 to 1988 he has held positions with Twin City Buick, the National Teacher Associates, Energy Shear of America, Inc.
