“The IARA is very education oriented and supports the automotive remarketing industry very effectively in this regard,” McCoy noted. “I believe the Alliance communicates effectively and communication is a foundation of education. Information is shared freely between members and others. There are industry leaders who are members of IARA who possess broad industry knowledge and are very willing to share that knowledge for the benefit of the industry at large.”
In his role at LeasePlan, McCoy is responsible for directing end-of-lease vehicle sales via all remarketing channels. Under his leadership, LeasePlan’s remarketing team is recognized as a consistent leader in reducing days to sell, managing remarketing costs and maximizing market value retention. Prior to assuming his current position, McCoy served as the organizational development trainer for LeasePlan. In that role, he was instrumental in developing the remarketing training curriculum introduced with the launch of LeasePlan’s enhanced remarketing system in 2007.
Prior to LeasePlan, Levi was with a major internet provider and major U.S. airline/computer reservation system as a call center manager. He was responsible for provisioning small and large Internet circuits and airline call center reservations and baggage, respectively.
In addition to the IARA, McCoy is a member of several key industry organizations including the National Association of Automotive Auctions (NAAA) and the Conference of Automotive Remarketing (CAR). He enjoys running, biking, and travel, and earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism/communication from California State University at Long Beach.
When asked how he got into the automotive industry, McCoy replied, “Like most of us, I have always loved automobiles. The ability to move and expand horizons is fascinating to me. The automotive industry is in the heart of most, if not all, who live.”
