Tom Caruso, executive vice president at KAR Auction Services received the 2018 Remarketer of the Year Award at the 2018 Conference of Automotive Remarketing. Jeannie Chiaromonte, VP, national remarketing manager at Bank of America received the 2018 Consignor of the Year Award.

Mike Antich, editor of Automotive Fleet, presented both of the Bobit Business Media-sponsored awards.

The Consignor of the Year award is voted on by professionals in the remarketing industry that select winners based on their ability to implement and encourage the use of best industry practices, as well as create, embrace and implement innovations to the industry. The Remarketer of the Year award recognizes individuals in the remarketing industry who actively share expertise and skills that advance the industry, participate in industry associations and groups, and mentor in the development of the next generation of remarketers.

Chiaromonte, who serves as VP, national remarketing manager for Bank of America has been with the bank for over 25 years. In her current position, she manages the vehicle, RV, marine, and motorcycle remarketing portfolio at Bank of America.

Along with her work responsibilities, Chiaromonte is also active in industry groups such as Manheim and ADESA’s Client Advisory Boards, and the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA). In fact, in 2015, she became the IARA’s first female president.

Recipient of the Remarketer of the Year Award, Caruso, has also had a long career in the remarketing industry. He has over 30 years of experience in the auction industry, and has been with the KAR Auction Services family of companies since 1992. As EVP of KAR Auction Services, he is responsible for establishing and strengthening relationships with customers along with integrating service offerings to customers across all KAR Auction Services business units.

He has served as a past board member of the National Vehicle Leasing Association and the Massachusetts Independent Auto Dealers Association. He has also served as president of the National Auto Auction Association.

"I'll tell you what, I've just been blessed to be in this industry all these years, thank you," Caruso said during his acceptance speech.
