The remarketing industry’s newest organization takes to the conference stage for the first time on March 27 for an interactive talk show/town hall-style presentation on expanding career support and resources for women professionals.
Since the Global Opportunities for Women (GROW) launched at the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance conference in Chicago in August 2023, the group has created programs and plans to pursue new ideas and approaches to business. Their session will be held on Wednesday, March 27 at 2:15 pm during the Conference of Automotive Remarketing at the Hilton at the Peak in Phoenix, Arizona
“This session is essentially a progress report,” said Kelly Bianchi, co-founder of GROW and co-founder of AuctionVcommerce LLC, who will moderate the session. “We’ve received a lot of support throughout the industry, along with a lot of questions. The attendees can look forward to receiving answers that we didn’t have available at the time, and to contributing their thoughts on our direction.”
Bianchi will be joined by co-moderators Belinda Beyer of American Recovery Service and Jamye Carpenter, along with contributing executives Shelly Frank, Dealers Auto Auction of the Rockies and Southwest; Jane Morgan, Pyle Family Auctions; Keely Smith, AutoIMS; and Lisa Frank, Kars-R-Us.
“Our goal is to expand the view of opportunity from the inside out,” Bianchi said. “Our hope is to create awareness with a direction for action. What the audience leaves with will depend on their role, whether they are a potential member, a champion, or a sponsor.”
During its first six months, GROW has been focused on the following:
Starting a series of hosted workshops called The AutoRemarketHER Exchange, which will be geared towards bringing female leadership to the table in the form of a webinar panels. Panelists will share their experiences and provide advice to an audience of women aspiring to succeed in the industry.
Curating content from these webinars to start building an online library of resources that will be available to members.
Developing an ‘Idea Bank’ where members formulate ways to connect women in Auto Remarketing who serve in various roles and do not have the benefit of attending conferences. This will create opportunities for them to practice leadership skills in an environment that will encourage their growth.
Forming regular standing committees in these areas: Workshops, Events, Membership, and Sponsorship, each pursuing new initiatives.
