ATLANTA – Manheim’s Total Resource Auctions network of salvage wholesale auctions has expanded to 20 locations nationwide with the addition of TRA Grand Prairie in Texas and TRA Utah in West Bountiful.
“We have seen a high demand for salvage vehicles in the lanes and online and are expanding the TRA network to meet that demand,” said Bill Tiedemann, vice president of auction services for Manheim.
TRA Grand Prairie, located at Dealers Auto Auction of Dallas, held its first salvage auction on March 20, selling more than 80 percent of the 122 vehicles offered. The auction, which sells an average of 115 vehicles at each salvage sale, hosts TRA sales every other Monday at 3 p.m.
“An additional seven acres of land is being prepared to hold inventory, a new concrete wall along the perimeter and digital video surveillance equipment have been installed for increased security, and our TRA staff has doubled in size within the last month,” said Phillip Braun, TRA Grand Prairie manager.
TRA Utah conducts salvage sales on the second and fourth Fridays of each month at 9 a.m.
Five of the auction’s eight lanes are equipped with Manheim Simulcast technology, which enables bidders to participate in live sales from remote locations. Volume at each TRA sale is approximately 100 damaged, salvage or inoperable units, and that as many buyers have been regularly participating, equally split between physical attendees and online bidders.
TRA allows buyers and sellers to securely exchange damaged, inoperative and salvage vehicles through Manheim’s TRA locations and Web-based products, including Simulcast.

TRA Detroit
