CHICAGO – Tim West, vice president, North American auction director at Black Book USA, has been named the recipient of the National Auto Auction Association’s (NAAA), Marie Hingst Award during the 59th Annual NAAA Convention, Equipment & Service Exposition in Chicago.
The inaugural award was presented to Hingst at the 2006 convention in Orlando, Fla., and was named after Hingst for her dedication and commitment to the NAAA. The award is presented each year at the NAAA annual convention.
West has nearly a quarter of century with Black Book USA. He was inducted into the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association Ring of Honor in 2004. His career with Black Book, which was purchased by Hearst Corp. in 1981, has been in the company’s editorial department. In his executive post as auction director, he is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the nation’s auctions as well as the NAAA.
West has long-been regarded as a fixture at NAAA events, especially the NAAA National Convention as an exhibitor. Black Book has maintained a sponsorship role with the association since the firm was created in the mid-1950s. The company hosts special functions for the entire NAAA convention contingent during the annual event.
“Tim is simply one of the greatest supporters we have out there in this industry,” said NAAA President Gregg Kobel. “He tirelessly supports our association, and is genuinely one of the friendliest people I have ever met. His knowledge of this industry and our association is a tremendous asset for us. We are proud to name him as the second recipient of the Marie Hingst Award!”
