ATLANTA – Manheim’s Tennessee Auto Auction in Nashville has joined the Total Resource Auctions (TRA) network of salvage wholesale auctions. The auction is the 15th Manheim location to be added to the TRA network in 2005.

In order to meet the demands of its salvage consignors and buyers, the auction has promoted Charlie Clark to TRA manager and has also hired Tonya Davis. Clark, who was most recently fleet/lease accounts coordinator at the auction, brings several years of auction experience to the newly created position. Davis spent six years as office manager for salvage auction company Copart, Inc., before joining Manheim and will assist Clark in the facility’s salvage operations.

“Nashville is such a central location in the Southeast. We get 750 buying dealers at our sales each week, from Mexico to Puerto Rico to all over the U.S., and already have a proven track record in salvage, selling as many as 150 units at a time for large rental companies,” said Robin Treadway, general manager at Tennessee Auto Auction.

Tennessee Auto Auction will begin conducting its TRA salvage sales in January 2006 in addition to its two weekly dealer consignment and fleet/lease sales. The sales will be held every other Monday at 2 p.m. Buyers will be able to participate in the lanes or online via Simulcast, which is installed in each of the facility’s six lanes. Tennessee Auto Auction occupies 175 paved acres, including a full reconditioning facility and a state-of-the-art paint and body shop.

“We know our customers are going to appreciate having another top-quality salvage sale,” said Treadway, who anticipates early TRA volume to be about 250 vehicles per month. “TRA gives buyers the option of attending a live sale or participating via Simulcast. That’s something they have been asking for, and that’s exactly what we’re giving them.”

TRA allows buyers and sellers to securely exchange damaged, inoperative and salvage vehicles through Manheim’s TRA locations and Web-based products, including Simulcast.
