Sparkling City Auto Auction continues its meteoric rise in the San Antonio market, building consignment, expanding facilities, and adding acreage to keep pace with increasing volume. Opened less than three years ago, the auction has recorded continuous growth, and has most recently opened a fifth lane on auction day. Auction owner Wade Walker also reports that major construction is underway on a new mechanic garage, detail shop and body shop.
"It seems that we've been in almost constant growth mode since we opened the auction in 2010," said Walker. "Our sale day volume now exceeds more than 500 cars and trucks every week, and we're very pleased to announce that we've added a fifth lane of auction selling at Sparkling City San Antonio."

Walker indicates that the auction has also adjusted its start time on sale day to make way for the increased volume, and will now begin every Tuesday at 10:30 am.
"We're the first sale of the week in our region, and the dealers crowd the lanes to bid on the best inventory in the area," said Walker. "We have a tremendous selection of fleet/lease and repo vehicles from our commercial consignors as well as new car dealers trades from all the major auto groups in the area."
According to Jeremy Cason, auction operations manager, this year's construction project follows last year's expansion of the storage and parking areas. He expects that the new garage, detail and body shop will be completed later this fall.
"We are excited to expand the scope of services we offer with the addition of the new shop space," said Cason. "We continue to hear how much our customers appreciate our friendliness, our attention to detail and personal service. Those are the qualities that have made our auction successful from the start, and they will continue to shape our business as we continue to grow."
Sparkling City Auto Auction of San Antonio is owned by Wade and Patty Walker. Situated on 33 acres of rolling hills on the north side of San Antonio, the auction includes a 12,000 square foot office building, five-lane auction arena, and a full-service detail shop. Inventory includes dealer consignments, fleet, lease, rentals, and financial institution vehicles. Sparkling City Auto Auction of San Antonio is constantly improving its internet infrastructure to provide customers with more options when it comes to buying and selling vehicles, including AuctionPipeline, AuctionEdge simulcast selling, SmartAuction and OVE.

CAR’s annual Fleet Remarketing Awards opened a reimagined 2026 conference designed to bridge the worlds of fleet management and automotive remarketing.
The 2026 Conference of Automotive Remarketing convened with a mandate to involve a new constituency — fleet managers — and an updated mission to demonstrate unrealized value in de-fleeted vehicles.
From a Wall Street analyst's take on remarketing's key players to whether fleets need their own version of Carfax, CAR 2026's afternoon roundtables will answer key operational and industry questions.
The enhanced technology allows rental car operations, dealerships, and auctions to compare a vehicle’s condition at pickup and drop-off within the same rental or loaner record.
A panel at the 2026 Conference of Automotive Remarketing will examine how resale value is created across the vehicle lifecycle and which traditional remarketing practices still deliver ROI.
Smart operational and spec'ing decisions can dramatically improve both the total cost of ownership during use and the resale value when it's time to remarket day cabs.
