FORT WORTH, TEXAS - AmeriCredit Corp. named Sparkling City Auto Auction in Robstown, Texas its top auction facility in the Southwest Region for 2009, as part of the company’s Auction of Excellence program.

Every year, AmeriCredit representatives review the performance of participating auctions in a variety of categories, including customer service, marketing promotions, pre-sale activities and overall auction success. Sparkling City Auto Auction received three quarterly Auction of Excellence awards for its region last year prior to being named the regional leader for 2009.

“Sparkling City Auto Auction is located in a strong, extremely competitive market, but distinguished itself as a three-time winner of AmeriCredit’s regional Auction of Excellence award last year,” said Drew Smith, an AmeriCredit travel representative, in presenting the award to Sparkling City’s Wade Walker, Ace Walker and Jonathan Lightfoot. “Their dedication to our account is clear in their attention to details and commitment to meeting or exceeding the guidelines that AmeriCredit sets for its auctions. From making sure that all units are on spot the day before the sale and running in order, to setting high standards for recon quality and making sure units are picked up and condition reports are completed on time, Wade and his staff put forth an outstanding effort on our behalf. Their consistency has kept Sparkling City Auto Auction at the top of our list as the regional leader and one of our four top auctions in the country.”

The award presentation was made during AmeriCredit’s 2010 Auction Summit in Arlington, Texas Feb. 26.

“We were determined to shine for AmeriCredit in 2009 and are thrilled to receive the Auction of Excellence award for the Southwest,” said auction Owner Wade Walker. “This award is a tribute to every member of our staff, whose hard work and dedication is evident in every aspect of our auction’s operation. We appreciate AmeriCredit’s recognition of our efforts, and are committed to maintaining an equally strong partnership in 2010.”

Sparkling City Auto Auction is located in Robstown, Texas, just outside of Corpus Christi, and serves the southeastern Texas region. Dealer auctions are held each Tuesday at its new, modern four-lane facility, where consignments from dealers, fleet and lease companies and financial institutions are offered each week. Sparkling City Auto Auction is a member of the ServNet Auction group.
