LINE-X is showing its continued commitment to U.S. veterans by auctioning a customized 2013 Chevrolet Camaro 1SS Coupe at the Mecum Auction in Anaheim, Calif., November 12-14, 2015, with proceeds going to UCLA Operation Mend.
In a partnership with iconic West Coast Customs, the Camaro’s complete exterior is sprayed with the same top-of-the-line, tried-and-true, superior technology that LINE-X uses to provide ultimate protection for defense and military platforms as well as SWAT, fire, and police.
UCLA Operation Mend was established as a groundbreaking partnership among UCLA Health, the United States military and the Department of Veterans Affairs to help heal the wounds of war. Operation Mend provides advanced surgical and medical treatment, as well as comprehensive psychological-health support for service members, veterans and their families at no cost. Their mission, along with the United States Military, is to jointly heal the wounds of war by delivering leading-edge patient care, research, and education and using the best medicine and technology available.
“We are honored to be in a position to give back to our military personnel and have full confidence that the proceeds of our LINE-X Camaro are going to an incredible organization that will use it with integrity, compassion, respect, teamwork and excellence towards the families they help,” said Dennis Weese, President of LINE-X Protective Coatings. “We are proud to be part of the teamwork between UCLA Operation Mend and West Coast Customs that have made this customized project and this donation a reality.”
LINE-X has a strong history of providing successful opportunities to active military duty members as well as American veterans who have honorably served. Both the Military Times and U.S. Veterans Magazine identify LINE-X among the top franchises who demonstrate the best outreach, accessibility, and accommodations for service members and veterans in the nation. Additionally, LINE-X is a leader in the spray-on coating industry, providing ultimate durability and protection having been recognized by the U.S. military for advanced anti-spall and blast mitigation capabilities. LINE-X has been approved to safeguard government, military and private buildings and vehicles around the globe, including the U.S. Pentagon.
The LINE-X Camaro is full of interior and performance modifications courtesy of West Coast Customs. The exterior is sprayed with LINE-X Body Armour, an exclusive LINE-X application made for full body protection and indestructability, giving the Camaro a unique and unexpectedly rugged appearance. The use of LINE-X is also seen throughout the Camaro with coated door jams, speaker boxes, and coated wheels. Body modifications designed by West Coast Customs include its Camaro performance hood, prototype front fascia and spoiler, rocker panels by Street Scene Equipment and outfitted with Continental Tires. A SLP rear wing completes the exterior performance look. Under the hood, West Coast Customs modified the power plant by replacing the stock headers with SLP High Performance Headers and by engineering in a SLP Supercharger System. To give the LINE-X Camaro a more pronounced muscle car exhaust note, SLP also provided its performance-based custom dual high flow exhaust package.
The Camaro will be up for auction at the Anaheim Mecum Auction November 12-14, 2015 at the Anaheim Convention Center. West Coast Customs’ founder, Ryan Friedlinghaus and an Operation Mend Veteran, Octavio Sanchez, will be in attendance on Saturday, November 14 to showcase the car at the auction.
