Porter Named President of Total Resource Auctions
ATLANTA – Jamie Porter has been named president of Total Resource Auctions, Manheim's salvage division.
ATLANTA – Jamie Porter has been named president of Total Resource Auctions(TRA), Manheim’s salvage division.
“Porter is a seasoned Manheim executive who has proven abilities to build and lead key businesses,” said Manheim President and CEO Dean Eisner. “He is well known for his work in the remarketing industry and will join Bill Tiedemann, who has been successfully developing Total Resource Auctions. Jamie and Bill make an awesome team, with a strong commitment for resources, staffing and growth; we expect Total Resource Auctions to become a premier company in serving the salvage industry.”
Manheim launched its Total Resource Auctions division in 2005 and now has 35 dedicated TRA sales throughout the country, with plans for continued expansion. The salvage sales allow buyers and sellers to securely exchange damaged, inoperative, and salvage vehicles through Total Resource Auctions locations and Web-based products, including Manheim Simulcast. With Porter’s addition, Tiedemann will continue in his role vice president and general manager of Total Resource Auctions and take on added responsibilities.
Porter joins Total Resource Auctions with 31 years of industry experience, most recently serving as Manheim’s executive vice president, service businesses, since July 2006. He has held numerous leadership positions at Manheim, including executive vice president of operations (2003-2006), senior vice president of sales and operations (2002-2003), senior vice president of sales and reconditioning (2000-2002), vice president of reconditioning operations (1999-2000), and regional vice president of operations (1996-1999).
Prior to joining the corporate staff, Porter served as general manager of Manheim’s Kansas City Auto Auction (1993-1996), general manager of 166 Auto Auction (1988-1993), and various other positions at 166 Auto Auction from 1976-88.
