REDWOOD CITY, CA – OPENLANE, Inc., a leading online auction company in North America for automotive dealers to buy and sell wholesale vehicles, announced that Ford Motor Company is now making Ford rental fleet vehicles available for purchase on Accelerate, OPENLANE’s private label auction service for Ford franchisees to purchase vehicles from Ford Motor Credit Company.

Ford and Lincoln Mercury dealers will now have first access to late-model Ford rental fleet vehicles and an expanded inventory that will allow them to choose from hundreds of additional vehicles every day.

Through this arrangement with Ford and Ford Credit, OPENLANE provides additional upstream remarketing options to Ford-affiliated dealerships. Ford rental fleet vehicles are available from nine locations across the U.S. at distribution centers operated by CT Services (doing business as “Axis Vehicle Services,” a vehicle marshaling and inspection service provider). Ford and Lincoln Mercury dealers that wish to purchase off-rental vehicles will also be able to use their existing Ford Signature Floorplan or Ford DEFT (Dealer Electronic Funds Transfer) accounts to purchase Ford rental vehicles online at the site.

“Expanding our online services and inventory to include additional Ford rental fleet vehicles will provide Ford-affiliated dealers with even more options to choose from when buying rental vehicles online,” said Daniel Farrar, CEO, OPENLANE. “Our online marketplace, combined with the nationwide access that Axis Vehicle Services is providing, shows our continued commitment to helping dealers get the vehicles they need in the most efficient and time-sensitive manner possible.”

In addition to providing vehicle inspection services, Axis Vehicle Services’ multiple locations nationwide will also expedite the delivery process for dealers purchasing Ford rental fleet vehicles.
