FRANKLIN, TN – Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) has selected Carfax as the exclusive vehicle history provider for their Nissan and Infiniti Certified Pre-Owned programs. As of May 1, 2012, Carfax Vehicle History Reports are a requirement for the Nissan and Infiniti certification process.

“Nissan and Infiniti brands set all-time sales records in Certified Pre-Owned sales this past fiscal year, delivering over 110,000 units, and we expect further growth with our program enhancements,” said Marty Gleason, Senior Manager, Certified Pre-Owned. “The Nissan and Infiniti Certified Pre-Owned programs drive higher customer loyalty for future vehicle purchases as well as stronger service retention.”

The Nissan and Infiniti Certified Pre-Owned programs build consumer confidence through a factory-backed 100,000 limited warranty.  The certification process requires pre-owned vehicles with less than 60,000 miles, which must pass a rigorous inspection process that includes a clean title and Carfax Vehicle History Report. Nissan and Infiniti certified vehicles also qualify for the Carfax Buyback Guarantee.

“The overwhelming majority of customers coming to our stores ask for a Carfax Report,” said Jeffrey Cappo, owner of Victory Auto Group. “We are diligent about running Carfax Reports at acquisition and making sure every customer gets one at retail. Having Carfax provide vehicle history for the Nissan Certified Pre-Owned program makes a lot of sense to me.”

Consumers get a free Carfax Vehicle History Report with every Certified Nissan and Infiniti vehicle sold at Certified Nissan and Infiniti dealerships. Thirty-four manufacturers choose Carfax to build confidence in their Certified Pre-Owned programs.

“While in the market for a used car I came across a Certified Pre-Owned Nissan Maxima at our local dealership,” said recent Nissan customer John Drewes of New York. “The Carfax Report we got showed lots of maintenance records and that it was a 1-Owner vehicle. Seeing all the detailed information on the Carfax Report really blew me away. I purchased the car based on the fact it was a Certified Nissan and the information on the Carfax Report.”

“DARCARS customers expect the best,” said Tammy Darvish, owner of DARCARS. “After a thorough evaluation, Carfax has proven to be the best choice for our cars and our business. We won’t sell any used car without a Carfax Report. I’m confident it’s the right choice for the Nissan and Infiniti Certified programs as well.”

“Great data helps drive great Certified Pre-Owned programs,” said Joe Koenig, vice president of Carfax. “Knowing about important details like previous accidents, ownership history and routine service is imperative to proving the quality of your vehicles. We are excited by Nissan’s trust in Carfax to build consumer confidence for their Certified Nissan and Infiniti units.”
