New Tools Added to AutoIMS
Ready Auto Transport has released a new set of transportation tools now available within AutoIMS to provide industry consignors greater control over logistics management
Ready Auto Transport, a transportation and logistics company for the automotive remarketing industry, has released a new set of transportation tools now available within AutoIMS, the market-leading remarketing technology application powered by Auto Auction Services Corporation (AASC). The new toolset provides industry consignors greater control over logistics management as part of the end-to-end inventory management process. Upon full implementation, the centralized technology will help increase the speed of service from consignment to delivery of vehicles while reducing transportation delivery times.
“This technology marks the beginning of a near to real-time transportation communication experience for customers, connecting all transportation activities from Ready’s system, our partner auctions, and qualified carrier network within the AutoIMS communications infrastructure,” said John Blobner, vice president of technology and general manager of Ready Auto Transport.
“Our integration with Ready Auto Transport gives consignors greater visibility into the transportation process, and promises to reduce cycle times and costs for all participants, thus furthering our mission to bring the remarketing industry together,” said Robert Williams, chief software architect at AutoIMS.
The program provides automated transportation alerts, communicating updates or changes to vehicle specifications, pick-up or drop-off locations, ETA changes and special notes. Flexible transportation actions will also be available based on single vehicles, bulk consignments and preferred transportation methods, including truck, rail, multi-modal and drive-away. The integration also provides visibility of the vehicle’s status even prior to physical auction arrival.
“The goal with the new integration is to streamline the end-to-end transportation process, introduce flexibility for customers with multiple consignments and create robust processes for order processing, transportation service, and business reporting,” states Blobner.
