MetroGistics Monster Mash Raises over $18K for Animal Charities

ST. LOUIS – Vampires, zombies, and other two-legged creatures came out to support their four-legged friends on Oct. 20 at the first MetroGistics Monster Mash fundraiser.

ST. LOUIS Vampires, zombies, and other two-legged creatures came out to support their four-legged friends on Oct. 20 at the first MetroGistics Monster Mash fundraiser. The Halloween-themed event, held at MetroGistics’ headquarters onRock Cliff Road, raised over $18,000 for two charities: Stray Rescue of St. Louis and Project VIP (Very Important Pets).

MetroGistics is a full-service transportation company founded by William Billiter and Scott Naz. The company actively supports local charities through its employee-driven MetroGistics Charity Program (MCP) and through fundraisers like the MetroGistics Monster Mash.

Two-hundred attendees came out to enjoy hors d’oeuvres and drinks, a silent auction of more than 50 items, a costume contest, and music from a DJ. Sponsors of the event included John Eccher; Comp-U-Help Computers; McCarthy, Leonard & Kaemmerer, L.C.; Wilkie Bros. Conveyers; Cope Brothers Landscaping; RBO Print Logistix; PNC Bank; Seafoam Media; Elder and Associates; Finney’s MMA; Wors Consulting; JR Data Source Tech; Glow Co Tan; Riverside Motors; Page Law; and All Star Physical Therapy.

Stray Rescue’s (www.strayrescue.org) sole purpose is to rescue stray animals in need of medical attention, restore them to health, and place them in loving adoptive homes. Project VIP (https://www.facebook.com/ProjectVIP/info) is a television program on KPLR dedicated to animals. The show is designed to reach a broad audience with the intent to educate, entertain and inspire by encouraging viewers to foster or adopt abandoned and abused pets.

“Everyone here at Metro had lots of fun and we hope our guests did too,” said Billiter. “Thanks to everyone who attended, our sponsors, and anyone who made a donation – all went toward great causes! We look forward to next year’s event.”
