ATLANTA – Reinforcing its commitment to continuously enhance the vehicle buying and selling experience for customers, Manheim has purchased Ready Auto Transport, a nationwide transportation company offering full and self-managed solutions. This new partnership offers marketplace customers a seamless, integrated transport solution with access to a highly-qualified carrier network of trusted transporters.

“Combining Ready Auto Transport’s full and self-managed transport options with Manheim’s extensive used car marketplace creates an unrivaled, end-to-end solution for customers to manage their vehicle inventory needs,” said Janet Barnard, Manheim executive vice president and chief operating officer. “Ready Auto Transport has been a longtime partner of Manheim, and this acquisition, led by Senior Vice President of Product Development, Joe George, is a natural extension of our business.”

“We are thrilled to join the Manheim team,” said Mark Jensen, Ready Auto Transport president. “Manheim’s 106 operating locations and strong digital presence combined with our transportation industry leadership allow us to offer customers a robust, comprehensive solution that gives them even more options to manage their vehicle inventory across in-lane and digital channels.”

With this purchase, Manheim also acquires 1Dispatch.com, a self-managed auto transportation platform that connects shippers and carriers around the country. For increased efficiency, vehicle information from OVE.com and Simulcast Everywhere purchases is immediately available to transporters via 1Dispatch.com, which makes it easier for customers to ship inventory using a provider of their preference.

Ready Auto Transport will continue to operate as an independent business from its headquarters in Mesa, Ariz. The Ready Auto Transport management team will remain in place, with Jensen reporting to George as group vice president of Ready Auto Transport. Mike McNamara, Manheim vice president of business development, will act as Manheim’s liaison to Ready Auto Transport, managing the day-to-day business affairs.

This acquisition strategically expands the Manheim marketplace into the transportation arena, providing customers with a one-stop-shop to buy, manage, sell and ship their vehicle inventory. It is an example of the company’s industry leadership and ongoing commitment to innovative solutions that make it easier for customers to do business anytime, anywhere and in any way they choose.
