Manheim Pennsylvania and its employees are spreading cheer during this holiday season with a six-week-long program, which kicked off in November with a special Veteran’s Day celebration, designed to honor our nation’s heroes, while aiding organizations such as Toys for Tots, the Manheim Central Food Pantry, and Wreaths Across America, during the holiday season.

“Manheim Pennsylvania has been a valuable part of Lancaster County for nearly 70 years,” said Julie Picard, vice president and general manager of Manheim Pennsylvania. “For many years our employees and customers have helped support our veterans and local organizations that help so many families during the holidays.”

“We are so pleased to partner with Manheim Pennsylvania and its employees,” said Carol Sumner, coordinator of the Manheim Central Food Pantry. “Our food pantry counts on the financial support and donations of area businesses and individuals. The generosity of many helps us to provide food to needy families or individuals residing in the Manheim Central School District.”

The Veteran’s Day celebration held last month featured the installation of 2,000 flags around the 400-plus acre facility to honor Lancaster County veterans. In addition, auction employees and customers donated more than $2,500 to Wreaths Across America and Vet21Salute, a local Lancaster-based military honor guard.

The auction will participate in Wreaths Across America’s wreath-laying ceremony at Fort Indiantown Gap Cemetery in nearby Annville, Pa. on Dec. 13. Employees and customers of Manheim Pennsylvania will provide 100 wreaths that will be laid at graves of 100 veterans at cemetery.

During the past three years, Manheim Pennsylvania and its employees have raised more than $180,000 to support many veterans organizations, including Keystone Wounded Warriors, Wounded Warrior Project, Wreaths Across America and Vet21Salute.

For many years, Manheim Pennsylvania has served as a collection location for Toys for Tots. Once again, the auction is hosting the collection of toys now through Dec. 12. Monetary donations can also be made to Toys for Tots at Manheim Pennsylvania through Dec. 23.

Employees and customers of Manheim Pennsylvania have donated more than a truckload of food during a canned food drive held at the auction for the Manheim Central Food Pantry from Nov. 13-24. Through the past few years, the food bank has called upon Manheim Pennsylvania to fill needs when food levels are low at the local food pantry. Click here to make a donation to the food pantry.
