Largest-Ever Total Resource Auctions Sale Held in Boston
ATLANTA – Manheim's Total Resource Auctions held the largest rental salvage and damaged vehicle sale in its history Sept. 15. Approximately 200 buyers participated in the two-lane sale at American Auto Auction in Boston, bidding on more than 425 salvage and inoperable vehicles from commercial and dealer consignors, including Hertz, Enterprise and Cendant Car Rental Group.

Approximately 200 buyers participated in the two-lane sale at American Auto Auction in Boston, bidding on more than 425 salvage and inoperable vehicles from commercial and dealer consignors, including Hertz, Enterprise and Cendant Car Rental Group.
Torrential rain did not dampen the atmosphere in the lanes, where buyers from 14 different U.S. states and one Canadian province purchased vehicles in a live, theatre-style, indoor auction setting. Attendance at the sale was estimated to be more than three times the usual turnout, with three-quarters of the buyers participating in the lanes and competing against buyers participating online via Simulcast.
Michael Lasini, vice president, national accounts for Total Resource Auctions, said the successful sale was a direct result of the auction’s ability to market Total Resource Auctions events.
Total Resource Auctions allows buyers and sellers to securely move damaged, inoperative and salvage vehicles through selected Manheim locations and Web-based
products, including Simulcast and Online Vehicle Exchange. Buyers can participate in every sale either at the auction or online.
American Auto Auction is among the first nine Manheim auction locations to operate under the Total Resource Auctions brand. As many as four more locations are expected to be added by year’s end.
