WESTCHESTER, IL – Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc. (IAA) has been named as a finalist for the 21st Century Achievement Award from the Computerworld Honors Program for its use of information technology in the finance, insurance, and real estate category. Michael D. Capellas, chief executive officer at MCI and member of the Chairmen’s Committee, nominated IAA in recognition of its contributions to global information technology and its positive impact on society. The award honorees will be announced at a gala at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. on June 6.
Insurance Auto Auctions was one of 162 laureates selected by the program’s Chairmen’s Committee study from more than 250 nominations to submit a case study that officially became part of the Computerworld Honors Collection this past April when the 2005 Collection was formally presented to the Global Archives. Of these 162 laureates, IAA is one of 48 finalists, in 10 categories, chosen by an academy of 30 judges to attend the June 6 event.
