In Memoriam: William "Bill" Gordan Ward-1924-2007

MARKHAM, ONTARIO – Founder and Owner of Wm. Ward Publishing and Distributor of Canadian Black Book, William “Bill” Gordon Ward has passed away on October 20 at the age of 83.

MARKHAM, ONTARIO – Founder and Owner of Wm. Ward Publishing and Distributor of Canadian Black Book, William “Bill” Gordon Ward has passed away on October 20 at the age of 83.

Ward was a very successful businessman in the publishing industry for more than 46 years and he will be missed by his staff at the Canadian Black Book Wm. Ward Publishing, his friends at the Donalda Golf and Country Club, and his many associates in the automotive industry.

Friends were received at the Highland Funeral Home, Markham Chapel on Tuesday, October 23rd and Wednesday, October 24th. Funeral services were held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 11 a.m. Interment followed at Highland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Toronto Humane Society or the Alzheimer Association. Online condolences may be placed at http://www.highlandfuneralhome.ca.

“We at Black Book USA shall miss our partner and legend in the Canadian Automotive market. We all worked closely with Bill Ward for 46 years and watched him make Canadian Black Book #1 in Canada. Our deepest sympathy go out to his daughters Debi and Kathy who are continuing in his footsteps in leading Canadian Black Book to bigger and better things,” said in a memo from Black Book USA’s Bob Burnett, chairman and Tom Cross, president.
