BOISE, ID – General Motors has recognized the Idaho Auto Auction as its No. 1 auction in the country. Jeff Heichel, director of GM Used Vehicle Activities, presented the 2004 GM Auction of the Year award to auction president and owner Steve Marlow at a recent ceremony in Boise.
“The award recognizes overall achievement in reconditioning, repairs, and presentation of GM used vehicles to our dealers,” said Heichel.
Idaho Auto Auction sold 12,000 used vehicles at GM Sponsored Auctions and GMAC open auctions in 2004. The auction has hosted a GM Sponsored Auction since 1996 and has been one of GM’s top performers for each of the past three years. The auction sold more than 10,000 vehicles for GM in 2003 and nearly 10,000 units in 2002.
The award presentation was made during a celebratory evening at the Boise Art Museum. Auction president Steve Marlow opened the event by thanking his auction staff and their families for their hard work and dedication. Jeff Heichel then took the stage to congratulate the auction staff on a job well done. He paid special tribute to Marlow’s father, Jerry, who worked to bring GM’s business to the Idaho Auto Auction. He passed away in July 2002.
Idaho Auto Auction holds a General Motors Sponsored Sale every other Friday at 9:30 a.m., bringing in dealers from Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Arizona.
