CHATTANOOGA, TN – The Chattanooga Auto Auction, a ServNet Auction, introduced a new subsidiary – Chattanooga Heavy Duty Truck and Equipment Auction – which opened Nov. 30, 2006, with 96 units offered for sale at the premiere event.

Hosted at ServNet’s Chattanooga Auto Auction, the first auction drew 73 dealers from eight states and posted a 50-percent sale. The auction looks to expand its market and attract even larger numbers of dealers from the Southeast region as it launches a full schedule for 2007, which will include monthly sales on scheduled Wednesdays at 11 a.m. The auction employs the latest technology, including Online Ringman, to make the consignment available to dealers attending from anywhere in the world via the Internet and to bidders in the auction lane.

The Chattanooga Heavy Duty Truck and Equipment Auction is a collaboration between truck auction veterans Chuck and Dale Frauhiger, and Robert M. Sullivan, managing partner of the Chattanooga Auto Auction.

According to Sullivan, plans for the sale began last summer, when he and Chuck Frauhiger discussed a heavy-truck auction that would complement the Frauhigers’ start-up venture in Ft. Wayne, Ind., at Indiana Auto & Truck Auction now two years in operation.

Handling the day-to-day operations at Chattanooga Heavy-Duty Truck Auction are General Manager Bob Cole and Sales Manager Darla Cole. Bob spent 22 years and Darla 10 years in Atlanta running one of the largest heavy-truck and equipment auctions in the country.

“We were very pleased with the results of our first sale in November,” said Cole. “Not only were there local dealers in attendance, but we welcomed dealers from Indiana, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Kentucky, Alabama, even as far away as California. Activity in the lane was excellent, and we also had great participation online. As a matter of fact, we sold a 2003 Freightliner for $40,000 to a dealer from Lamont, Florida who attended the sale and out-bid other Online Ringman bidders.

The most recent sale at Chattanooga Heavy Duty Truck and Equipment Auction was held Jan. 17. The auction facility is located at 2120 Stein Dr., Chattanooga, TN 37421.
