DETROIT – GM Certified Used Vehicles becomes the first OEM to offer free video inventory listings to their dealers. Qualifying dealers now have the opportunity to showcase their inventory on GMCertified.com and select GM CUV partner sites using video streaming, providing access to real-time, vehicle-specific content for each vehicle in their inventory.

“Simply by providing a minimum of six photos, our certified dealers can bring a listing to life for the consumer through our partner sites like AutoTrader.com,” said Larry Pryg, national advertising and marketing manager of GM Certified Used Vehicles. “Dealers have the opportunity to recreate the walk-around experience for customers, as the videos provide sufficient visual content and vehicle description. As a result, the videos are more engaging and more likely to drive customers to the right dealership to find the vehicle they want.”

“We are excited to be a part of a program that will deliver a new channel for GM to market their certified used vehicles,” said Howard Gardner, divisional vice president and general manager of Digital Motorworks, Inc (DMi), technology provider to the GM Certified Used Vehicle program. “Video is being used more and more in digital marketing because it’s simply more engaging than static content. Videos keep people on your site longer, and have four times the click through rate of pictures alone.”

Videos engage the consumer and educate them about the most important features of the vehicle. These online video listings enable GM to better convey the value of the Certified Used Vehicle program and have proven to create more leads, more phone calls, and ultimately more sales.

In addition to Human Voice Narration and the inclusion of 3rd party content, the videos include GM CUV wrappers, highlighting key marketing messages and can be further customized to include dealer-provided wrappers.

The first video listings are slated to premiere on AutoTrader.com with additional GM CUV partner sites to follow.

“We believe this an excellent tool for our dealers to showcase their Certified inventory,” said Paul Pejza, Manager GM Certified Used Vehicles. “This is an opportunity to encourage our dealers to engage with customers at higher level.”
