DETROIT - General Motors reached a landmark recently with the sale of the 12-millionth GM remarketed vehicle at auction. The vehicle, a 2007 Buick LaCrosse, was sold Sept. 26 at a special sales event at the Flint Auto Auction in Flint, Mich., to Patsy Lou Buick GMC of Flint, Michigan, according http://www.gm.com.

"The Flint Auto Auction has done a tremendous job handling the GM and GMAC account over the years," said Dan Kennedy, national sales manager, GM Remarketing. "Their service to the GM dealers and preparation of the sale vehicles has been outstanding. In recognition of their hard work and efforts, GM wanted to give Flint Auto Auction the opportunity to showcase the 12-millionth vehicle sale event on our behalf."

Since its first GM auction in May 2000, the Flint Auto Auction has sold more than 80,000 GM used vehicles.

The auction holds a closed factory auction every other week on Wednesday, offering an average of 400 vehicles per sale and welcoming 250 GM dealers, who buy both in the lane and online, utilizing Pipeline Simulcast. Participating dealers hail from more than 30 states. A member of the ServNet Auction group, Flint Auto Auction is a participating member of AuctionPipeline.com, a Web initiative that provides auction customers with sales and market information as well as live online bidding.

"GM's decision to sell its 12-millionth used vehicle here is a real tribute to the Flint Auto Auction team's commitment to meeting the needs of our factory customers and to the pride and dedication of the auction employees here," said Bill Williams, Jr., president, Flint Auto Auction. "We've had an excellent relationship with GM over the past seven years, working hard to develop programs and processes to help maximize resale value."
