DETROIT – General Motors has sold its 12-millionth GM remarketed vehicle at auction. The vehicle, a 2007 Buick LaCrosse, was sold at a special sales event at the Flint Auto Auction in Flint, Mich., to Patsy Lou Buick GMC of Flint, Mich. The GM Sponsored Auctions closed sale included 425 GM used vehicles. Nearly 220 dealers participated in the sale.
“Flint Auto Auction has been a great General Motors sale over the past six years, and we’re pleased we can share this honor with our auction partners here,” said Mark Mathews, director, GM Used Vehicle Activities. “This is a milestone that is the result of the contributions all of our auction venues have made over the last two decades. The Flint Auto Auction team and all our GM Sponsored Auctions understand that vehicle remarketing is about providing outstanding service and value to our dealers, from reconditioning and repairs to presenting the vehicles in the sale lanes.”
Since its first GM auction in May 2000, the Flint Auto Auction has sold more than 80,000 GM used vehicles. Today’s auction featured 425 GM used cars and trucks. Flint Auto Auction has hosted GM Sponsored Auctions closed sale since 2000. It holds a closed factory auction every other week on Wednesday, offering an average of 400 vehicles per sale and welcoming 250 GM dealers, who buy both in the lane and online, utilizing Pipeline Simulcast.
Participating dealers hail from more than 30 states. A member of the ServNet Auction group, Flint Auto Auction is a participating member of AuctionPipeline.com, a Web initiative that provides auction customers with sales and market information as well as live, online bidding.
