Copart Names Adair as CEO

FAIRFIELD, CA - Provider of online auctions and vehicle remarketing services Copart Inc announced that its founder and current CEO and chairman of the board handed over his duties as CEO to the company's president.

FAIRFIELD, CA - Provider of online auctions and vehicle remarketing services Copart Inc announced that its founder and current CEO and chairman of the board, Willis J. Johnson, has handed over his duties as CEO to the company's president, A. Jayson (Jay) Adair, with immediate effect.

Adair has served as president since November 1996 and as a director since September 1992. He will relinquish the title and responsibilities of president to Vincent W. Mitz, who has served as executive vice president of Copart since August 2007.

Johnson will continue as chairman of the board and an executive officer and will remain actively involved with the company, primarily in mergers and acquisitions and other strategic planning.
