Chrysler Group Posts Record Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle (CPOV) Sales for March and the First Quarter 2007
AUBURN HILLS, MI – The Chrysler Group reported that its Five Star dealers set a Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle (CPOV) best month and best quarter sales record in March 2007. March sales rose 8 percent to 12,979 units (2006: 12,018) and first-quarter sales increased by 8 percent to 32,254 units (2006: 29,771).
AUBURN HILLS, MI – The Chrysler Group reported that its Five Star dealers set a Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle (CPOV) best month and best quarter sales record in March 2007. March sales rose 8 percent to 12,979 units (2006: 12,018) and first-quarter sales increased by 8 percent to 32,254 units (2006: 29,771).
All three of the Chrysler Group brands posted increases in March: Chrysler brand sales rose 9 percent to 4,488 units; Jeep brand sales accelerated 20 percent to 3,083 units, and Dodge brand sales rose 2 percent to 5,408 units. Monthly increases were driven by Chrysler PT Cruiser, Chrysler Pacifica, and the Jeep Liberty sales.
First-quarter sales of 32,254 units also set a record by exceeding the previous record set during the second quarter of 2006 with 30,877 units. First-quarter 2007 sales were positive across the board with the Chrysler brand up 7 percent, Jeep brand up 23 percent, and the Dodge brand up 2 percent.
For a vehicle to be certified under the Chrysler Group's used-vehicle program, it must be a 2002- through 2007-model preowned vehicle with less than 65,000 miles and pass a 125- point inspection. The Chrysler Group's CPO vehicles are backed by an eight- year/80,000-mile powertrain limited warranty, 24-hour, 365-day full roadside assistance with a $35 per day rental car allowance, and a three-month or 3,000- mile Maximum Care warranty, in addition to a Carfax Vehicle History Report and buyback guarantee.
