AUBURN HILLS, MI -- Chrysler Group reported that its Five Star dealers sold a new June record of 11,245 Certified Pre-owned Vehicles (CPOV), an increase of 11 percent over June
2006 sales of 10,127 units.
All three Chrysler Group brands posted sales increases: The Jeep brand led the way in June with a 17 percent increase, posting sales of 2,831 units, the Dodge brand followed with sales increasing 10 percent to
4,599 units and the Chrysler brand's sales increased 8 percent to 3,815 units.
Second quarter CPOV sales increased 6 percent to 32,832 units, establishing an all-new record for sales in a quarter. This record was set by all three brands: Chrysler brand up 1 percent, Jeep brand up 15 percent
and Dodge brand up 6 percent. Record year-to-date sales amounted to 65,044 units for 2007, an increase of 7 percent over year-to-date sales last year.
"Once again, another month of record sales have been posted from our Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge Five Star dealers," said Peter Grady, Director - DaimlerChrysler Motors Remarketing. "This exemplifies the high quality service our dealers provide to their used vehicle clientele base, which continues to bring new customers into the Chrysler Group brand family on a regular basis."
Marketed as "Brand Spankin' Used," the Chrysler Group's CPO vehicles are sold only through Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealerships that have earned the automaker's Five Star certification. Five Star certification is a comprehensive validation of the dealership's facilities, operational processes, salesperson and technician training accreditation as well as customer satisfaction survey ratings. Approximately 2,100 Chrysler Group dealerships in the United States are certified Five Star dealers.
