SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Charlotte Pyle was elected vice president of the National Auto Auction Association (NAAA) at its annual Conference in San Francisco. She will serve on the NAAA executive committee with President Dave Angelicchio, President-elect Jay Cadigan, Chairman of the Board Bob McConkey, Secretary Warren Byrd, Treasurer Mike Broe, President-Emeritus Warren Young, General Counsel Chuck Stepter, and Executive Director Frank Hackett.

“I am both thrilled and humbled to serve the Association,” said Pyle. “This marks my 20th year as a member of the association, and I’ve developed the highest respect for its members, its leaders, and the work that we’ve accomplished as an Association since I attended that first meeting in 1989.”

Pyle continued, “I was fortunate to have tremendous mentors who offered me so much support, advice and encouragement when I was a new to the industry. Ruth Hart-Stevens, Jim and Barbara Wheatley, and Henry and Patti Stanley not only made me feel welcome, but set such fine examples for me as talented, devoted auction owners and industry leaders. I firmly believe the friendships I shared with these great people helped define the committed member I am today, and I am determined to offer the same kind of support to other members of the Association.”

Pyle remembers she was instantly fascinated by the activities of the NAAA at the first meeting she attended, and notes with pride she has attended every Fall convention and Spring meeting ever since. She worked on special projects for 10 NAAA presidents and served on numerous committees, including the association’s convention committee, legislative committee, scholarship committee, and the 2004 Taxation Task Force.

She most recently served as the Southern Zone’s Chairman of the Board, NAAA Independent Auction Committee Co-Chair, and Customer Relations Co-Chair. Pyle considers a number of projects among the highlights of her NAAA career thus far, including her work in helping to pass the Three Strikes Rule, her efforts on behalf of the NAAA Scholarship Foundation, and her proposal while Southern Zone President to add educational content to the annual meetings, a practice that has since been followed by the Association as a whole.

Charlotte and her husband, Joe, are the owner/operators of two independent auto auctions in West Virginia: Mountain State Auto Auction in Shinnston, opened in 1987, and Capital City Auto Auction in St. Albans, opened in 1996.
