Charleston Auto Auction Breaks Records at 7th Annual Luau/Pig Pickin' & Car Sale
MONCKS CORNER, SC - Charleston Auto Auction celebrated its 7th Annual Luau/Pig Pickin' & Car Sale Friday, June 18.
MONCKS CORNER, SC - Charleston Auto Auction celebrated its 7th Annual Luau/Pig Pickin’ & Car Sale Friday, June 18.
More than 600 dealers took part in one of the most anticipated sales of the year at Charleston Auto Auction, according to the American Auto Auction Group. The sale featured multiple smoked pigs, a steel drum band, more than 1,400 vehicles, and $50,000 in cash and prizes.
“We know our dealers work hard all year and hardly ever have time to take a break. That is why we want them to feel like they are on a tropical island when they attend our Luau Sale. We decorate the whole auction in the Luau theme and award prizes focused on relaxation,” said Laura Taylor, general manager of Charleston Auto Auction.
Of the 1,400-plus vehicles offered for sale, institutional accounts consigned a record-breaking 425 vehicles. “It was a great day for all our clients. Everything from a $200 car to a $40,000 truck sold,” noted Chris Wise, the auction’s national remarketing manager.
The New Car Dealer Trade Lane also broke a consignment record by running more than 300 vehicles. Independent dealers and wholesalers offered their share of vehicles by running more than 700 cars and trucks.
Another record broken was the number of vehicles offered with the 95-percent Buy Back Program. Over 200 vehicles were sold with the 95-percent Buy Back Guarantee, which allows the buying dealer to return the vehicle, with title, to Charleston Auto Auction for 95-percent of the purchase price between the 61st and 67th day after purchase.
“Every year we seem to set a record at the Luau Sale and this year was no exception. Buyers and sellers left happy — not to mention the dealers who split the $50,000 in cash & prizes,” said Taylor.
Charleston Auto Auction is a member of the American Auto Auction Group. It holds a sale every Friday at 10 a.m., with a damaged and disabled sale on the 2nd and last Friday of every month at 9:00 a.m.. For more information about Charleston Auction, visit www.charlestonautoauction.com.
