Central Mass Auto Auction Celebrates Grand Re-Opening

OXFORD, MA – Central Mass Auto Auction (CMAA), the largest Independent auction in Massachusetts, will be celebrating its one year anniversary under new management with a month-long Grand Re-Opening Celebration.

OXFORD, MA – Central Mass Auto Auction (CMAA), the largest Independent auction in Massachusetts, will be celebrating its one year anniversary under new management with a month-long Grand Re-Opening Celebration. Special events run the entire month of February and include a host of events scheduled for employees, sellers, and buyers.

“CMAA and its dedicated staff and loyal customers have developed a strong, consistent relationship over the years which allowed us to weather a challenging economy, an uneasy automotive market, and the recent transition of ownership,” said Joe Smalley, Sr., Managing Partner/ Auction General Manager. “Through it all, we have demonstrated our resilience and maintained a commitment to providing the best auction services to both buyers and sellers, including offering an outstanding selection of vehicles every week.”

Events include employee recognition, customer appreciation, the introduction of a Dealer Advisory Board; Special Financing Seminars sponsored by Inofin, Remarketing Seminars to Credit Unions, the launching of OVE, buyer give-a-ways, and special seller fee discounts.

On December 31, 2008, Joseph R. Smalley, Sr. along with his partner David G. Massad II completed the purchase of the assets of Central Mass Auto Auction, Inc. The auction had been in business servicing dealers and Institutional Accounts in the New England region for over 17 years under the previous ownership. Says Smalley, “With our 75+ years experience in the industry, including perspectives as both buyers and sellers at auto auctions along with an owner’s point of view; we are confident that our team can continue to grow and improve the services as well as to increase the size and diversity of vehicle inventory offerings.” In addition to administrative changes and the implementation of new policies and procedures, CMAA has also hired new staff to assist with sales and marketing.

The most critical changes to CMAA have been the increase in marketing and added technology. CMAA now has an established multi-channel marketing program, providing aggressive and effective campaigns which include email promotions, newsletters, telemarketing and an increased web presence. Technology enhancements include AutoIMS, Online Sales and Simulcasting capabilities.

“Central Mass Auto Auction remains vital and strong during this rebuilding process and has quickly regained the trust of local dealers and National Consignors. We look forward to celebrating the partnership between our staff and our clients and reward their dedication, loyalty and commitment with a month filled with fun”, added Smalley.
