RICHMOND, VA – CarMax, Inc., a used-car retailer, kicked-off volunteer efforts across the U.S. to support the communities where their associates live and work. Starting June 1 and continuing through the end of the month, hundreds of CarMax associates are volunteering in teams for non-profit organizations, such as Boys and Girls Clubs, Special Olympics, and Habitat for Humanity.
More than 50 volunteer teams are dedicating their time and energy throughout the month of June with both local and nationwide organizations. Their activities include work on literacy projects, landscaping and animal care, as well as providing summer camp assistance. Boys and Girls Clubs has been selected as the primary national team-builder organization for this year’s month-long volunteer efforts. This organization has been the number one chosen grantee for The CarMax Foundation’s Regional Giving Program for the past two years, during which time it has been awarded a total of more than $180,000.
