CARMEL, IN – ADESA, Inc. has announced that Warren Byrd has returned to the company as its executive vice president of corporate development.

“Warren has been instrumental in helping the company expand to where it is today, and he will be an integral part of our ongoing growth plans through acquisitions and expansions and relocations of our existing facilities,” said Jim Hallett, president and CEO.

“ADESA’s plans include growing our footprint through selective acquisitions in strategic markets,” said Hallett. “We also intend to continue to expand and improve our auctions that are located in larger, high-growth metropolitan areas.”

Warren Byrd is also enthusiastic about his return to ADESA. “I feel a tremendous amount of ownership in a company that I helped grow from just 14 used-vehicle auctions in 1994 to more than 80 used-vehicle and salvage auctions in 2003. I look forward to building upon our past successes to make ADESA even more competitive by enhancing our coverage and market share. I am especially encouraged by the support of our new ownership group to grow the company through acquisitions and facility expansions,” Byrd said.

Byrd joined ADESA in 1994 as legal counsel for the company after private practice with Bingham McHale (formerly McHale, Cook & Welch). Byrd moved full time into corporate development for the company in 1992. In 2002, Byrd assumed the position of president of ADESA Impact, a salvage subsidiary he helped to acquire.

For the past three years, Byrd has been the chief operating officer of ServNet.
