Brasher's Auction Group Acquires Idaho Auto Auction

SALT LAKE CITY - Steve Marlow and the Brasher family have announced the acquisition of the Idaho Auto Auction by the Brasher group.

SALT LAKE CITY - Steve Marlow and the Brasher family have announced the acquisition of the Idaho Auto Auction by the Brasher group. The purchase from the Marlow family was finalized May 1, and the first auction held under the Brasher banner was a closed General Motors sale May 2, followed by the regular consignment sale May 3.


The purchase of the Boise facility brings to six the total number of auctions owned and operated by the Brasher family in the Western United States. Doug and Matt Brasher will oversee auction operations. Marlow will stay on board in an advisory capacity for one year.

The Idaho Auto Auction was founded in the mid-‘70s by Lloyd Seuell and Pat Phillips. In 1986, it was purchased by Jerry Marlow and Nick Drzayich. Marlow later became the sole owner and his son, Steve, assumed duties as general manager in 1988. Steve Marlow has served as CEO and president since 2002. The auction offers an average of 800 vehicles every Thursday on six auction lanes, and a bi-weekly General Motors factory sale. The Idaho Auction was named General Motors’ top auction in 2004.


“The Idaho Auto Auction is a great fit for the Brasher’s auctions geographically, and will allow us to serve our customers better than ever before,” noted Doug Brasher.



Brasher’s family of auctions include the original operation in Salt Lake City, and sister auctions in Sacramento, Portland, Eugene, and Reno.
