The event is held each year at a different auto auction across the country; where the best auctioneers and ringpeople in the business compete individually, and in teams, to capture the title of World Champion.
Contestants from around the country vie for an assortment of prize money, trophies, and the coveted Championship Rings. This year a panel of industry executives is set to judge the contest.
Judges include: Paul Seger of GE Capital, Scott Eyster of US Bank, Brent Huisman of Santander Consumer Finance, Steve Houston of Wells Fargo Dealer Services, Dave Stolt of The Hertz Corporation, Thomas Moore of SmartAuction, as well as past champions such as Amy Assiter and John Nicholls.
Akron Auto Auction has been in business for over 36 years and is run by third generation family management. Auction President, Chad Bailey said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for our auction to showcase the facility, staff, and service in a World Class competition setting.”
The auction offers a dealer-only Auction Sale of over 1,200 vehicles every Tuesday and a Repossession Sale the first and third Thursday of every month at their 30 acre six-lane facility. A long standing member of the National Auto Auction Association, the auction utilizes the AutoIMS inventory management system as well as OVE, Smart Auction, Auction Pipeline, and Sale Day simulcasting Internet technologies.
