FORT PIERCE, FL – In December 2004, ABC Southeast Florida – one of Auction Broadcasting Company's newest auctions located at 400 N. Rock Road, Fort Pierce -- began serving as a marshalling center for Honda Financial. ABC Southeast Florida is the only marshalling center for Honda Financial in the region. Approximately 500 vehicles per month will be marshalled through ABC Southeast Florida and sent to scores of auction venues throughout the eastern states.
ABC worked closely with Honda Financial to develop a system for the marshalling process. "Our ABC team, led by John Glassmeyer, director of IS, worked closely with Chuck Githens, Honda Financial Services marshalling yard supervisor, to custom design a marshalling system to handle this inventory," stated Tom Haberer, director of operations for ABC. "We developed a system that tracks each vehicle from the time it enters our gates through the light reconditioning process up to and including shipping and arrival at its final destination."
The marshalling process involves more than simply holding cars until their shipping dates. "We examine each car and conduct light reconditioning where needed," said Haberer. "We correct any safety-related item, including glass replacement, oil changes, fixing tires, and light mechanical items – whatever the car needs before shipping to the appointed auction for sale.
