2014 CAR Conference Looks to the Future
Many of the sessions at the 2014 Conference of Automotive Remarketing (CAR) looked to the future of the industry.

The 19th annual Conference of Automotive Remarketing (CAR) changed venues this year to the Paris Las Vegas Hotel. Perhaps reflecting this change, most of the sessions and events looked to the future of the remarketing industry, starting with keynoter John King of CNN, who prognosticated about the future direction of U.S. politics, and the graduation of the first class from the Auction Academy — some of whom are second- and third-generation members of the industry.
As with 2013, multiplatform selling continued to be a hot-button topic drawing a packed house whenever it was discussed. Economist Ira Silver’s annual overview of the market was bullish, with retention values still generally trending up.
Prior to CAR, the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA) held its Spring Roundtable, ending with awarding Henry Stanley of Charleston Auto Auction the Matt Marks Circle of Excellence Award.
In 2015 CAR, will move back to Caesars Palace Las Vegas. It will be held March 18-19.
