HOUSTON - A woman was shot and killed at an auto auction business in northwest Harris County, according to ABC News.

Harris County Sheriff's deputies were called to Big H Auto Auction in Houston. Upon arrival, deputies found Chandra Belton, 40, shot to death in the parking lot.

According to the news report, witnesses reported seeing a man and a woman drive into the parking lot in a gold colored SUV. A few minutes later, they saw both people get out of the SUV. The man allegedly shot the woman multiple times, witnesses say, before driving away.

Around 9:30 pm, Belton's family members called authorities to report her as a missing person. Relatives told deputies Chandra left her home at about 4 pm with her estranged husband, Jerry Belton. They were driving Chandra's gold colored Ford Escape.

Jerry Belton returned to the family's residence shortly after 5 pm, without Chandra, and immediately left in his own vehicle, a tan, 1998-2000 Toyota four-door. The family discovered Chandra's purse in her vehicle and became increasingly concerned when they could not reach her by cell phone.

Jerry Lee Belton, 51, has been charged with the alleged murder of Chandra Belton. Jerry Belton is believed to have fled to Amite, Tangipahoa Parish, La. He is described as 5'11", 195-200 lbs., bald, and hearing impaired. Police ask anyone with information about this crime to call Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS or log on to www.Crime-Stoppers.org.
