Julie Kanupke has been recognized by America’s Auto Auction for nearly 20 years of distinguished service at its Chicago auction, and has received the company’s October Spotlight Award. A member of the auction’s team since 2001, she serves as the fleet/lease Manager.
“Julie has been the rock of our fleet/lease department for nearly two decades, and has overseen national accounts for us for the majority of her tenure here,” said Larry Hero, general manager of America’s Auto Auction Chicago. “She has trained and hired many of the individuals working in our fleet/lease department, including most of our vehicle inspectors. She’s well-versed in the repossession business, and has strong, well-established relationships with people in the industry who know they can rely on her to handle their business with care and efficiency.”
Kanupke arrived at America’s Auto Auction Chicago in 2001, with a background in customer care, vehicle title processing and auto finance. Starting out at America’s in the front office handling customer service, her auction experience grew to include work in parts and transportation and in the vehicle donations department before she settled into the fleet/lease department.
“Helping our customers during the pandemic has been particularly challenging, but the team at America’s Chicago has worked hard to help them manage the transition to simulcast selling,” said Kanupke. “It’s thrilling to be part of a company that saw the changes coming and acted quickly, proactively and decisively. We all worked together to handle the necessary changes which made the process so much easier for our clients.”
