Thoroughbred Auto Auction, which owns and operates two dealer-only auto auctions in Tennessee, has retained TPC Management Company for strategic consulting, the companies announced Nov. 4.
Thoroughbred's Clarksville facility serves the Nashville market, while the Jackson facility serves the greater Memphis market. Larry Seay, also an auto dealer, owns and operates the company.
“The auto auction business has certainly undergone changes and weathered challenges in recent years, but we are primed and ready to face the future with excitement and optimism." Seay said in a news release. "Both our auctions are well positioned to continue providing excellent service both to the new and used car dealers in the area, and to our many national commercial accounts. We know TPC will enable us to position our services to an even broader range of customers.”
Thoroughbred Auto Auction offer a full range of auction services including reconditioning, transportation, and financing. Both locations employ the Auction Edge suite of technology platforms.
“Larry Seay is a second-generation auto dealer, who has been operating in the auto auction segment for over a decade with his facility in Jackson, Tennessee," said Pierre Pons, president of TPC Management, in the release. "His background and experience give him a unique perspective on the challenges facing the remarketing industry. Larry’s understanding of the needs and expectations of both buyers and sellers has shaped operations and defined the customer service experience at his auctions.”
Thoroughbred Auto Auction Clarksville, led by general manager Nikki McCoy, has been operating since 1986. The auction holds a weekly sale every Thursday afternoon in addition to a quarterly Classic Car Auction. Thoroughbred Auto Auction Jackson was founded in 2000. Headed by general manager Micky Stafford, the auction team holds a sale on Fridays at 9:30 a.m. Both locations offer vehicles for sale 24x7 via online marketplaces. Seay has also owned and operated Seay Motors in Mayfield, Kentucky since 2013.
Founded in 1996, TPC Management Company, based in Nashville, Tennessee, provides consulting and management recruiting services to a wide variety of companies within the automotive industry.
