America’s Auto Auction Virginia recently hired Derek Simmerman as its assistant general manager, where he brings a strong background in fleet/lease management and customer service from working seven years in the independent auction community.

"I’ve known (Derek) for a number of years and had the opportunity to work with him in South Carolina," said Jerry Daisey, the auction’s general manager, in a Dec. 2 news release. "I have always been impressed with his work ethic and his genuine regard for his customers.  I knew he would be a perfect fit for the America’s Auto Auction team here in Virginia Beach.”

Daisey cited Simmerman's strong relationships he forged during his time in the industry. "He is respected by both both commercial consignors and auto dealers,” he said. “His efforts at America’s Auto Auction Virginia are sure to benefit our customers and employees alike and will continue to elevate our reputation for professionalism and service.”

Simmerman notes that he began his auction career in marketing before moving into fleet/lease account management.  He learned the ropes quickly, working hard to develop and grow important regional accounts.

“The auction industry has really grown on me, and I quickly grew to love what I do,” Simmerman said. “This business is about relationships, about giving your word and standing behind it. There’s so much potential here at America’s Auto Auction Virginia, and I’m looking forward to devoting myself to its customers and contributing to its continued success.” America's Auto Auction Virginia is located at 656 S Military Hwy, Virginia Beach.

Founded in 2005, America’s Auto Auction, Inc. is the third-largest auto auction company in the U.S. with 23 locations. Information:www.americasautoauction.com
