NAAA Cuts Ties to Used Car Week
The National Auto Auction Association is ending its partnership with Cherokee Media Group for its National Remarketing Conference in the fall, the association has announced.
The National Auto Auction Association is ending its partnership with Cherokee Media Group for its National Remarketing Conference in the fall, the association has announced.
The association is hosting its 71st annual convention in Indianapolis from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3 rather than participating in Used Car Week from Nov. 11 to 15 in Las Vegas. Association members had requested the move, which ends a partership that began in 2016, according to a NAAA release.
"Our members spoke, and we listened," said Chad Bailey, NAAA's president. "The consensus was that having our own convention gives us greater freedom, flexibility and focus to perform the business of the association and meet the specific needs of our membership. Resuming our autonomous annual meeting will allow us to concentrate on NAAA’s priorities with more targeted content on issues relevant to the auto auction business and the work NAAA conducts all year long in such areas as standards, safety, advocacy and the future of wholesale auto auctions."
With the change, the association can be more accommodating to scheduling dates, times and on-site meeting space. It will also have the ability to bring the convention to a variety of venues more centrally located for the convenience of its members, according to the release.
NAAA will continue to hold its spring business meeting at Bobit Business Media's Conference of Automotive Remarketing, which has been scheduled for March 24 to 25 in Las Vegas.
